I first started traveling to San Francisco in the early 90’s. I asked a taxi driver to take me to place with good food, cool people, not too pretentious but something that felt like San Francisco. He brought me to the Balboa Cafe in the Marina District. To me, this image isn’t just the Balboa, but it feels like a Saturday night in the city with people out, eating, drinking, spending time with friends and all the noise and action that a city provides. When you’re cold, step inside and have a drink. You’ll feel like you’re home.
